USC Rifle kept their playoff hopes alive Tuesday with an impressive win over section opponent Waynesburg by putting up their best score of the season. Senior captains Caleb States (100-9x), John Walsh (100-8x), and Cole Super (100-7x) lead the scoring with sophomore Molly Walsh kicking in a 100-5x to round out the 100’s. Wolfram Schmidt, Logan Wells, Erin Shehab, and John Sawyer each put up 99’s in the win. For Sawyer, a freshman, it was his 3rd consecutive 99 in a match. In a non-counting effort, freshman Hayate Svitek also put up a 100-4x. For Super and Svitek, these were their first match 100’s which gave them the privilege of adding their names to the toolbox. The team travels to McGuffey Thursday and look for a win and a little help to finish off the regular season on a high note.
