Kemp Strikes Out 10 in USC Softball Win
Girls Varsity SoftballBrooklyn Kemp threw a complete game with 10 strikeouts last night as the Upper St. Clair Softball team defeated Trinity 6-2 in a non-section game. Kenzie Pope and Rachel Scharrer provided a spark offensively, both recording 2 hits and 1 RBI each. The win brings the Panthers record to 5-0 on the season and they will return to the field next Friday when they will open up section play by hosting Chartiers Valley.

USC Baseball Falls In Non-Section Game
Boys Varsity BaseballThe Upper St. Clair Baseball team hosted Norwin last night in a non-section game at Boyce-Mayview Park. The Panthers hung tight with the Knights, trailing by two after 6 complete innings, but Norwin was able to plate 5 runners in the top of the 7th and held on for a 10-3 win. Grayson Valancius got the start on the mound for the Panthers going 6 innings with 4 strike outs and allowing 3 earned runs. Offensively, Upper St. Clair scattered 6 hits with Nolan Wilson's double being the lone extra-base hit. The Panthers will look to rebound on Monday when they will host North Allegheny.

USC Boys Lacrosse Falls in Double OT
Boys Varsity LacrosseThe Upper St. Clair Boys Lacrosse team hosted South Fayette tonight in a non-section match up. A back-and-forth game saw that 4 quarters wasn't enough as the teams tied 9-9 after 48 minutes. In the second overtime period, South Fayette was able to find the back of the net to take home a 10-9 win over the Panthers. Nathan Haberman, Holden Rickel, and Charlie Bywalski all scored 2 goals each for Upper St. Clair in the loss. The Panthers will look to rebound on Monday when they travel to Shady Side Academy.

Girls Varsity LacrosseThe Upper St. Clair Girls Lacrosse team traveled to Peters Township tonight as they looked for their fourth straight win. The Panthers did just that, winning 16-9 to move their record to 4-1 on the season. Anna Capobres led Upper St. Clair with 5 goals and Molly Powell also had a strong game with 3 goals and 2 assists. The Panthers will look to continue their winning ways on Wednesday when they will host Plum.

USC Boys Tennis Wins Third Straight Match
Boys Varsity TennisThe Upper St. Clair Boys Tennis team won their third match in a row today as they defeated Chartiers Valley 4-1. Sid Weissert and Saajin Laffin each won their singles matches in straight sets, and the doubles teams of Anderson Ploeger/Michael Barrie and Ben Seewald/William Whitman also won each of their matches in straight sets. The Panthers now move to 5-1 and will be back in action Friday when they will travel to Pine-Richland.

Boys Varsity BaseballThe Upper St. Clair Baseball team opened up section play as they hosted Bethel Park for a doubleheader today at Boyce Mayview Park. The Panthers fell in extra innings 7-4 in Game 1 and took a 15-0 defeat in Game 2. Finnegan Baird and Eli Mandler each doubled in Game 1 and Nico D'Orazio had the lone hit for the Panthers in Game 2. Upper St. Clair will look to bounce back on Friday when they will host Norwin.

Girls Varsity SoftballThe Upper St. Clair Softball team pushed their record to 4-0 this season as they defeated New Castle 6-3 tonight. Brooklyn Kemp continued her strong start to the season, pitching a complete game and only allowing 3 hits, while striking out 4. Geneva Eisinger and Nora Stutzman powered the Panther offense, each having two hits. Stutzman also doubled and drove in a run and Eisinger had 2 RBI's on the day. The Panthers will look to continue their perfect start to the season on Thursday when they will host Trinity.

USC Boys Basketball Falls in PIAA Semifinals
Boys Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team traveled to Chambersburg High School today to take on Roman Catholic High School in the PIAA Semifinals. The Panthers hung tough with the Cahillites throughout the game but ultimately fell 59-46. Tyler Robbins led the Panthers with 18 points and Niko Gidas added 11 of his own. The loss concludes one of the most successful seasons in school history for Upper St. Clair. The Panthers finish the season with an overall record of 26-3, along with being crowned Section Champions and WPIAL Champions, as well as reaching the PIAA Semifinals for the second time in school history. Congratulations to all members of the team on a fantastic season.

Terlecki's Big Game Sends USC Girls Basketball to PIAA Championship
Girls Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Girls Basketball team traveled to James Buchanan High School today to take on Garnet Valley in the PIAA Semifinals. The Panthers, who have been starting strong during their playoff run, fell behind by 7 points in the first quarter to find themselves in unfamiliar territory. As the first half progressed, Upper St. Clair battled back and the teams went to the locker rooms at halftime tied at 23. The third quarter was back-and-forth with neither team hanging to a lead before the Panthers outscored the Jaguars by 4 in the final eight minutes to take home a 53-49 win. Olivia Terlecki connected on 5 three pointers as she finished with a team high 19 points and Rylee Kalocay chipped in 13 of her own in the victory. With the win, the Panthers will take on Perkiomen Valley in the PIAA Championship. The two teams met previously this season on December 14th as the Vikings came away with a 63-57 win. The Panthers will look for their revenge with PIAA Gold on the line on Friday

USC Baseball Completes Season Sweep of Mount Lebanon
Boys Varsity BaseballThe Upper St. Clair Baseball team hosted Mount Lebanon today for their second matchup with the Blue Devils this week. The Panthers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after 5 complete innings, but the Blue Devils answered with 5 runs of their own in the top of the 6th to take the lead. Upper St. Clair then responded with 3 straight singles, followed by 3 Mount Lebanon errors, and then a triple by Cooper Stutzman to score 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th to give them the 10-5 win. Eli Mandler went 3-3 at the plate with a double to power the Panther offense, while Richard Gardner earned the win on the mound going 4 innings in relief and striking out 6. Upper St. Clair now moves to 4-0 on the season and will now turn their focus to section play as they will open it up by hosting Bethel Park on Monday.

Sydney Fisher and Kenzie Pope also had multi-hit games, along with Brooklyn Kemp who went 3-5 with a triple. Kemp also pitched all 9 innings, scattering 8 hits and striking out 10. The Panthers now move to 3-0 on the season and will be back in action on Wednesday when they will host New Castle.

Wilson's Dominant Pitching Performance Leads USC Baseball Past Mount Lebanon
Boys Varsity BaseballNolan Wilson struck out 9 hitters over 6 innings today as he led the Upper St. Clair Baseball team to a 7-0 win over Mount Lebanon. Wilson only allowed two hits in his outing before giving way to Brayden Wells to close the game out in the 7th. Offensively, the Panthers scattered 11 hits total with Eli Rankin leading the charge going 4-4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Carter Stein also had a multi-hit game, going 2-4, and Eli Mandler doubled in the win. Upper St. Clair will be back on the diamond Friday when they will host Mount Lebanon at Boyce-Mayview Park.

USC Boys Volleyball Suffers Non-Section Defeat
Boys Varsity VolleyballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Volleyball team traveled to Seton Lasalle last night for a non-section match up with the Rebels. Similar to the season opener, the Panthers played a hard five sets, but ultimately ended up falling 3-2. Upper St. Clair got out to a 1-0 lead as they won the first set 25-23, the Rebels then took the next two sets 31-29 and 25-21. Upper St. Clair then rallied, winning the fourth set 25-23 and had a lead in the fifth set, but Seton Lasalle was able to battle back and take the decider 17-15. The Panthers now fall to 0-2 on the season and will be back on the court Thursday when they will host Thomas Jefferson.

The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team will be hosting their annual Tip-Off Tournament this Friday and Saturday. The Panthers are scheduled to play Kiski Area High School on Friday at 7:00 pm and will play either Bethel Park or Seton LaSalle on Saturday at 2:30 pm. Please note that all tickets for the Tip-Off Tournament will be $5.00 - CASH ONLY. No Credit Cards, Panther Passes, or Gold Cards will be accepted.

USC Rowing Competes at Head of the Ohio Race
The Upper Saint Clair Rowing Association crew had a fantastic experience and outcome at the recently concluded 2024 Head of the Ohio Race, also popularly referred to as HOTO, on Sunday, Oct 6th, 2024. HOTO is a premier rowing regatta held annually on the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh. It attracts competitive rowers from across the country, ranging from high school teams to elite rowing clubs and universities. This year the USC Rowing crew teamed up with Pittsburgh Rowing Club (PRC) rowers and won several races, including several top finishes, as the crew navigated the challenging 2.6-mile course through the heart of the city with stunning backdrop of Pittsburgh’s iconic bridges and skyline.
