USC Indoor Track Wraps Up Regular Season
CoEd Varsity Indoor TrackOver the weekend, the Upper St. Clair Indoor Track and Field Team competed in their final regular season competition held at Edinboro University. Sadie Tomczyk won the girls 60 meter dash, and ran one of the top times in the state. She also finished 2nd overall in the 200 meter dash. Nasman Takes Second at WPIAL Championships
Girls Varsity WrestlingCongratulations to Upper St. Clair Freshman Wrestler Grace Nasman, as she took 2nd place in the 142 pound weight class at the Girls WPIAL Championships this past weekend at North Allegheny. Nasman, who entered the tournament as the 3 seed, went 3-1 during the Championships with one win coming by pin and two by major decision. Nasman has advanced to the PIAA West Regional which will also be held at North Allegheny on Saturday, March 1st where she will look to capture a top four finish and qualify for the PIAA Championships.

USC Rifle Competes at Team and Individual Championships
CoEd Varsity RifleThe Upper St. Clair Rifle Team had a busy week with team and individual championships. Individual championships on Thursday fielded 82 competitors with the top 16 advancing to states. Senior Erin Shehab placed 5th in individuals (200 - 18x / 4c) and senior Ben Waldron placed 10th (200 - 16x / 4c) advancing them to the state round. Hayates Svitek, Logan Wells and Molly Walsh performed well but do not advance. The state competition is next week, being held over several days. The Team Championships Tuesday saw the Panthers place 8th overall in WPIAL teams scoring 793 - 50x. Junior Hayate Svitek was selected to the All-Tournament Team with a score of 100 - 9x. Unfortunately, the team did not advance to the state championships. Congratulations to the team for a great season!

USC Girls Basketball Finishes Regular Season with Win
Girls Varsity BasketballRylee Kalocay scored 27 points and Meredith Huzjak added 12 as the Upper St. Clair Girls Basketball team defeated West Allegheny tonight, 62-46. The win brings the Panthers regular season to a close with an overall record of 16-6. Upper St. Clair will now turn their attention to the WPIAL Playoffs, where they have drawn the #2 seed in Class 6A. The Panthers first round game will be on Friday, February 21st and they will host Pine-Richland. The start time of the game is still to be determined.

USC Girls Basketball Falls in Non-Section Game
Girls Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Girls Basketball team hosted Penn-Trafford today in a non-section contest as the team starts its WPIAL Playoff preparation. Rylee Kalocay poured in 26 points and Meredith Huzjak added 15, but the Panthers fell in a close one, 59-57. The loss drops Upper St. Clair’s record to 15-6 and the team will have another non-section game against West Allegheny on Monday. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

Boys Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team hosted Mount Lebanon tonight in their regular season finale. In a low scoring affair, the Panthers came away victorious 41-31. Niko Gidas connected on four three pointers as he led all scorers with 16 points and Tyler Robbins chipped in 12 in the win. The Panthers finish the regular season with a record of 20-2 (13-1) and will await their playoff fate when the WPIAL Brackets are released on Monday.

CoEd Varsity RifleThe Upper St. Clair Rifle team held their final regular season match of the season yesterday as they took on Plum. The Panthers completed the regular season with a win, 790 - 53x to 777 - 36x. Senior Logan Wells finished the season strong with a 100 - 10x. Other team members contributing to score included Erin Shehab, Molly Walsh, Harrison Barker, Hayate Svitek, Ben Waldron, Christian Levkulich, and Colin Donnelly. The Panthers conclude their regular season with an overall record of 6-8.

Girls Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Girls Basketball team held its Senior Recognition tonight as they squared off with Mount Lebanon and came away with a 65-35 win. All six Panther seniors contributed in the win as Rylee Kalocay led the bunch with 24 points. Meredith Huzjak followed Kalocay with 9 points, Olivia Terlecki added 8, Grace Howell had 7, Claire Rosenberry scored 3, and Peyton McGregor chipped in 2. Ryan Prunzik was also instrumental in the win as she scored 12 points. The Panthers now move to 15-5 (8-2) and will be back in action Saturday when they will host Penn Trafford. Tip off is scheduled for 2:30 pm.

USC Swimming and Diving Defeats Montour on Senior Night
CoEd Varsity Swimming & DivingThe Upper St. Clair Swimming and Diving team hosted Montour on Wednesday night. Both the boys and girls swimming and diving teams defeated the Spartans moving the boys raised record to 6-3, while the girls moved to 2-7. The highlight of the meet was recognizing all of our Seniors at our Senior Recognition night, the last home meet of the season. The Senior swimmers and divers include Maren Davis, Hasan Alhajhusain, Brady Bernard, Armen Pettit, Hunter Talai, Liam Tomb, Griffin Tomsheck and Kobi Yuyi. Congratulations to Sophomore diver Carter Wells. His winning score of 296.40 established a new pool and school record. What an accomplishment! CoEd Varsity RifleThe Upper St. Clair Rifle team hosted Hempfield yesterday and fell by a score of 799-55x to 793-44x. Seniors Ari Madaras, Erin Shehab and Logan Wells all contributed 100 - 7x along with Molly Walsh (100-6x) to lead the scoring. Harrison Barker, Hayate Svitek, Ben Waldron, and Colin Donnelly rounded out the top eight scores. Boys Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team traveled to Hempfield tonight for the teams final road section game of the regular season. Tyler Robbins led the way with 18 points as the Panthers took home a 55-38 win. With the win, Upper St. Clair moves to 19-2 (12-1) and has claimed the outright section title. The Panthers did just that as they cruised to a 67-38 win over the Falcons. Rylee Kalocay led the way with 21 points and Kat Polstyanko chipped in 11 of her own in the win. Three Panthers hit the double figure scoring mark tonight as Tyler Robbins led the group with 21 points. Julian Dahlem would add 18 and Ryan Robbins chipped in 10 in the loss. The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team will be hosting their annual Tip-Off Tournament this Friday and Saturday. The Panthers are scheduled to play Kiski Area High School on Friday at 7:00 pm and will play either Bethel Park or Seton LaSalle on Saturday at 2:30 pm. Please note that all tickets for the Tip-Off Tournament will be $5.00 - CASH ONLY. No Credit Cards, Panther Passes, or Gold Cards will be accepted.

USC Rowing Competes at Head of the Ohio Race
The Upper Saint Clair Rowing Association crew had a fantastic experience and outcome at the recently concluded 2024 Head of the Ohio Race, also popularly referred to as HOTO, on Sunday, Oct 6th, 2024. HOTO is a premier rowing regatta held annually on the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh. It attracts competitive rowers from across the country, ranging from high school teams to elite rowing clubs and universities. This year the USC Rowing crew teamed up with Pittsburgh Rowing Club (PRC) rowers and won several races, including several top finishes, as the crew navigated the challenging 2.6-mile course through the heart of the city with stunning backdrop of Pittsburgh’s iconic bridges and skyline.
