USC Boys Basketball Downs Central Catholic to Advance to PIAA Semifinals
Boys Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team traveled to Peters Township High School on Saturday afternoon to take on section rival Central Catholic in the PIAA Quarterfinals. Much like the first two matchups of the season, the section co-champions duked it out it a physical, defensive-minded game, but the Panthers got the upper-hand. Upper St. Clair led throughout the game, carrying a six-point lead at halftime and held on to that lead for a 52-46 win. Luke Marchinsky, Jake Foster, and Ryan Robbins combined for 50 of the 52 points in the game with Marchinsky leading the way with a career-high 22. Foster added 16 of his own and Robbins scored 12 and also pulled down 17 rebounds. The win earns the Panthers a spot in the PIAA Semifinals for the second straight season as they will take on District 3 Champion, Central Dauphin. The game will be played on Tuesday with the site and time still to be determined.

USC Baseball Gets Mercy-Rule Victory
Boys Varsity BaseballNico D'Orazio and Brooks York combined for 5 hits and 5 RBI's as the Upper St. Clair Baseball team defeated Rock Canyon High School 13-3 Saturday afternoon in Florida. Grayson Valancius got the start on the mound and threw three no-hit innings, with six strikeouts. Valancius also went 2-3 at the plate with a double and 2 RBI's. The Panthers will be back in action tomorrow to finish their Florida trip when they take on London High School.

USC Swimming and Diving has Strong Showing at PIAA Championships; Zoukovski Claims PIAA Gold
CoEd Varsity Swimming & DivingCongratulations to Upper St. Clair Senior Swimmer Nazar Zoukovski as he claimed a Gold Medal in the 100 yard freestyle at the PIAA Championships held at Bucknell University this past week. Zoukovski set a new school record with a time of 44.19 seconds and also took 4th place in the 50 yard freestyle. Ben Whiteford brought home a Bronze Medal in the 100 yard freestyle and finished in fourth place in the 100 yard backstroke, capping off a very successful season for him. USC Baseball Moves to 2-0
Boys Varsity BaseballThe Upper St. Clair Baseball team continued their Florida swing on Friday as they took on Northside Christian High School. Max Dietrick tossed a complete game, striking out 6, and only allowing one hit as the Panthers cruised to an 8-0 win. Nico D'Orazio and Cooper Stutzman each recorded two hits, including triples, and drove in one run each. Grayson Valancius and Finn Baird also recorded multi-hit games in the win. The Panthers now move to 2-0 and will be back in action tomorrow to take on Rock Canyon High School.

USC Boys Volleyball Sweeps Penn Trafford
Boys Varsity VolleyballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Volleyball team opened its 2026 season Friday evening as they traveled to Penn Trafford. The Panthers started on the right foot, taking down the Warriors in straight sets: 25-19, 25-19, and 25-22. The team will look to carry their momentum into their home opener on Tuesday against South Park.

USC Baseball Opens Season with Shutout Win
Boys Varsity BaseballThe Upper St. Clair Baseball team opened their 2026 season on Thursday in St. Petersburg, Florida as they took on JOBA Academy. Max Urban got the opening day start on the mound and combined with Aaron Goettler to pitch a 4-hit shutout as the team brought home a 1-0 win. The Panthers offense was limited in the first six innings, but in the seventh Matthew Yates led off with a double and with 2 outs in the inning, Nolan Wilson singled home Yates to walk it off for the Panthers. Wilson also singled in the first inning and Tanner Schroeck tripled in his first at-bat of the season. The Panthers will continue their Florida swing tomorrow when they take on Northside Christian.

USC Boys Basketball Cruises into PIAA Quarterfinals
Boys Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team traveled to Hollidaysburg High School on Wednesday to take on Red Lion High School in the second round of the PIAA Tournament. The Panthers jumped out to an early 15 point lead after the first quarter and never looked back. They extended their lead to 17 at halftime, 25 after third quarter, and ultimately took home a 62-45 victory. Ryan Robbins continued his dominant play, scoring a game-high 20 points and Luke Marchinsky poured in 16 of his own in the win. The victory now sets up a PIAA Quarterfinal matchup with familiar foe, Central Catholic. The teams met twice so far this year with the Vikings winning 48-46 on December 12th and the Panthers winning 48-47 on January 16th. The rubber match is set for Saturday, March 14th with the site and time still to be determined.

USC Boys Basketball Advances to PIAA Second Round
Boys Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team hosted Cedar Crest High School on Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the PIAA Tournament. The Panthers and Falcons played a tight first half as they went into the halftime break tied at 27, but Upper St. Clair was able to pull away in the second half as they took home a 66-52 win. Ryan Robbins was a dominant force, scoring a game high 24 points and Jake Foster and Luke Marchinsky added in 16 and 11, respectively. The win advances the Panthers to the PIAA second round for the third straight season and they will play the winner of Seneca Valley and Red Lion. The game will take place on Wednesday, March 11 with the site and time still to be determined.

USC Girls Basketball Falls in First Round of PIAA Tournament
Girls Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Girls Basketball team took on Allderdice on Friday night in the opening round of the PIAA Tournament. The Panthers, who defeated Seneca Valley last Thursday to qualify for states, saw themselves trailing by seven points at halftime. A strong third quarter saw Upper St. Clair cut the Dragon lead to three, but Allderdice was able to hold on in the fourth to defeat the Panthers, 49-42. Ryan Prunzik wrapped up her outstanding career by leading the team with 10 points in the loss. The Panthers finish their season with an overall record of 13-13, as third-place finishers in the WPIAL, and as PIAA Qualifiers.

The Girls will take on Allderdice High School and the Boys will take on Cedar Crest High School. Please see the information below regarding the games. Svitek Places 6th in PA State Rifle Prone Championships
CoEd Varsity RifleCongratulations to Upper St. Clair Senior Hayate Svitek who took home a 6th place finish in the 2026 PA Scholastic Rifle Prone Championships. 42 individuals from across the state of Pennsylvania competed in three regional tournaments. Senior Captain Svitek scored 410.0 on four USA 50 targets scored with the Orion scanning system, setting the school record for placement in the tournament.

Miller and Zoukovski Claim WPIAL Gold at Swimming Championships
CoEd Varsity Swimming & DivingCongratulations to Upper St. Clair Swimmers Catherine Miller and Nazar Zoukovski for winning Gold Medals at the WPIAL Swimming Championships, held Thursday and Friday at Trees Hall. Miller took 1st place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.21 and Zoukovski took 1st in the 100 freestyle with a time of 44.82, both swimmers have qualified for states with their outstanding results. Miller also took home a 7th place finish in the 100 freestyle and Zoukovski placed 3rd in the 50 freestyle, earning them a spot on the podium in those events. USC Hockey Falls in PIHL Quarterfinals
Boys Varsity Ice HockeyThe Upper St. Clair Hockey team traveled to Seneca Valley on Monday night for a matchup with the #1 seeded Raiders in the PIHL Quarterfinals. Seneca Valley got the scoring started early, scoring two goals in the first period, but the Panthers responded 2:07 into the 2nd period with a power play goal from Nico Galardini to cut the lead in half. The Raiders grabbed control of the game after that, scoring 3 unanswered goals to defeat the Panthers 5-1. Owen Laurent tallied 39 saves on the night and Jackson Rose and Nevin Siniawski each picked up assists on Galardini's goal.

USC Indoor Track Competes at States
CoEd Varsity Indoor TrackThe Upper St. Clair Indoor Track team competed in the PA State Championships this weekend, held at Penn State University. The Girls 4x200 meter relay team of Jameson Tisdale, Melice Rubino, Sydney Tomczyk, and Sadie Tomczyk finished 15th overall, adding to their successful season, which saw them break the school record as well. Additionally, in a few weeks those four Panthers will compete at New Balance Indoor Nationals in Boston. Sadie Tomczyk also competed in the 60 meter dash, finishing 20th in the state and Carter Kashak finished 15th in the 800 meter run, breaking the Upper St. Clair School record in the event. Congratulations on a great season and good luck to the Panthers competing in Boston. USC Boys Basketball Wins Thriller to Complete WPIAL Three-Peat
Boys Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team traveled to the Petersen Events Center on Friday night as they squared off with New Castle in the WPIAL Championship. In a game of runs, the Panthers struck first jumping out to a 12-point lead after the first quarter, but New Castle answered by cutting the lead to only one point at the end of the first half. In the second half the teams traded blows, and New Castle saw themselves with a three-point lead with 20 seconds remaining in the game. Ryan Robbins converted a lay-up, and Jake Foster stole the following inbounds pass, leading to a foul. Foster sunk both free-throws and the Panthers made a defensive stand to take home a 52-51 win. Robbins finished the game with a double-double, tallying 16 points and adding 12 rebounds. Luke Marchinsky scored 14 points, with 10 coming in the first half, and Foster added 11 of his own in the win. Girls Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Girls Basketball team hosted Seneca Valley on Thursday night in the WPIAL Third Place Game. With a berth in the PIAA Playoffs on the line, the Panthers bounced back from Tuesday's loss as they defeated the Raiders 50-39. A balanced scoring attack helped propel the team to victory. Kat Polstyanko led the bunch with 13 points, Ryan Prunzik followed with 12, Audrey Brown added 8, Kenzie Pope and Caroline Barnard each scored 6, and Claire Birmingham chipped in 4. The Panthers will start their PIAA Playoffs next Friday with the opponent, venue, and time still to be determined.

USC Athletic Registration Fee Information
The Athletic Registration Fee Portal for 2025-26 is now open. Please go to the Registration tab on uscsdathletics.com to enter information. Any student at USC High School who is participating in athletics will need to submit the 2025-26 Athletic Registration Fee using the form on the Registration tab. The athletic fee is $75 per athlete, per sport, per season. For example, if an athlete plays a sport in the fall and/or winter, they still owe $75 for playing a spring sport. The fee must be paid prior to the first contest.
