USC Baseball Falls in PIAA Quarterfinals
Boys Varsity BaseballThe Upper St. Clair Baseball team traveled to First Commonwealth Field on Thursday to take on Dubois High School in the PIAA Quarterfinals. The Panthers opened the scoring in their half of the 2nd inning on a Grayson Valancius single, but the Beavers answered in the 3rd and 4th, putting up five runs to take a four run lead after 3 ½ innings. The Panthers then responded themselves to cut the lead to two after Finn Baird and Nico D'Orazio each had bases-loaded walks. The Beavers scored two more runs in the 5th inning before Tanner Schroeck's double in the bottom of the 5th drove in a run to make the score 7-4 Dubois after 5 complete innings. The 6th inning saw the Panthers narrow the lead to 9-7 after allowing two runs, but coming back with three thanks to an Evan Smirniw double, a Nolan Wilson ground out that plated a run, and a Cooper Stutzman single. Stutzman Walks it Off to Advance USC Baseball to PIAA Quarterfinals
Boys Varsity BaseballThe Upper St. Clair Baseball team opened up the PIAA Playoffs on Monday as they took on New Oxford High School at Boyce Mayview Park. The Panthers, who have relied on their offense throughout their playoff run, got an outstanding pitching performance from Grayson Valancius. Valancius tossed 7 ⅔ innings, allowing only 5 hits and 2 runs (1 earned), while striking out 5 to lead the Panthers to a 3-2 win in 8 innings. Valancius, who reached the pitch count maximum of 105 pitches in the top of the 8th inning, gave way to Max Dietrick to record the final out to send the Panthers to the bottom half of the 8th tied at 2. In the bottom of the 8th, Nico D'Orazio reached on an error, Evan Smirniw singled, and Nolan Wilson advanced D'Orazio to third on a fielder's choice to set the table for Cooper Stutzman. CoEd Varsity AdministrationThe Upper St. Clair Baseball team has qualified for the PIAA Tournament and will hold their first round game on Monday, June 1st at Boyce-Mayview Park at 4:00 pm. Please see the following information regarding the game. Tickets may be purchased on the PIAA website, by clicking here. General admission ticket prices for the PIAA Baseball Championships are $9.00 for advance online purchases and $10.00 for day-of-game online purchases. Tickets purchased at the field are $10.00 cash only, and exact change is required. Purchasing tickets online in advance is strongly recommended. Tickets are required for all individuals, inclusive of grades K–12. Pre-kindergarten individuals are admitted free of charge. USC Baseball Claims WPIAL Gold in Thrilling Championship Game
Boys Varsity BaseballThe Upper St. Clair Baseball team traveled to EQT Park in Washington on Wednesday as they squared off with section rival South Fayette in the WPIAL Championship game. The two teams met twice in the regular season with the Lions winning both games, but the Panthers got their revenge in a thrilling WPIAL Championship. The Lions opened the scoring with a run in the fourth inning, but the Panthers answered with two in the 5th thanks to RBI singles by Tanner Schroeck and Finn Baird. After South Fayette tied the game their half of the 5th inning the two teams went scoreless in the 6th and entered the final frame tied at two. In the top of the 7th, Brooks York continued his clutch postseason by leading off with a double and Schroeck came through again later in the inning, plating courtesy runner Austin Chambers on a one-out single up the middle. Schwamberger Wins Three Events, Tomczyk Medals in Two at PIAA Track and Field Championships
CoEd Varsity Track And FieldCongratulations to Upper St. Clair Freshman Holden Schwamberger and Senior Sadie Tomczyk for their performances at the PIAA Track and Field Championships held on May 22 and 23 at Shippensburg University. Schwamberger took first place in the Wheelchair 100 meters, 200 meters, and 800 meters with times of 18.59, 35.32, and 2:40.25, respectively, capping off a fantastic Freshman season. Tomczyk finished off her outstanding Panther career with a 4th place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.11 and a 5th place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.63. USC Baseball Punches Ticket to WPIAL Championship Game
Boys Varsity BaseballThe Upper St. Clair Baseball team traveled to Peterswood Park on Thursday for a showdown with Montour in the WPIAL Semifinals. The Panthers and Spartans played a whirlwind game as the Panthers took a 10-1 lead into the bottom of the 7th inning before the Spartans put up 9 runs to tie the game at 10 and send it to extra innings. In the top of the 8th, Brooks York delivered his second straight game winning hit, this time by way of a 2-run home run, to propel the Panthers to a 13-10 win. York finished the day with two hits and four RBI's. Grayson Valancius recorded four hits on the day and Nolan Wilson and Nico D'Orazio each had three hits to help power the Panther offense. Max Dietrick got the start on the mound after closing Tuesday's win against Moon and tossed 6 innings allowing only two runs on 108 pitches. USC Baseball Advances to WPIAL Semifinals
Boys Varsity BaseballThe Upper St. Clair Baseball team traveled to Ross Memorial Park on Tuesday to take on Moon in the WPIAL Quarterfinals. The two section foes met twice in the regular season, resulting in two wins for the Tigers, but Tuesday night was a different story. The Panthers defeated the Tigers, 10-9, in a game that saw 15 hits, 17 walks, and 6 different pitchers used. The Panthers were led by Nico D'Orazio, who had four hits and scored four runs, and Brooks York, who drove home the winning run in the top of the 7th inning on a 2-out single to right field. Max Dietrick earned the win on the mound as he threw the final two innings after Grayson Valancius tossed the first three and Ethan Capobres tossed the middle two. The win advances the Panthers to the WPIAL Semifinals where they will take on #9 seeded Montour. The game will take place on Thursday with the time and location still to be determined.

USC Girls Lacrosse Falls in WPIAL Semifinals
Girls Varsity LacrosseThe Upper St. Clair Girls Lacrosse team traveled to Fox Chapel High School on Monday to take on Pine Richland in the WPIAL Semifinals. After suffering a defeat to the Rams earlier in the season, the Panthers hung tough this time around, but ultimately fell 13-8. With the loss the Panthers are still alive for a state playoff berth as the team will be back in action on Thursday to take on Fox Chapel in the WPIAL Third Place game. The game will take place at Chartiers Valley High School at 6:00 pm with the winner moving on to the PIAA Tournament.

Boys Varsity TennisThe Upper St. Clair Boys Tennis team traveled to the Hershey Racquet Club on Friday to square off with Abington Heights High School in the PIAA Quarterfinals. The Panthers fought tough with the District 2 Champions, but ultimately came up short, falling 3-1. Ethan Yealy won his singles match in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) to give the Panthers their lone win throughout the match. The team now concludes their season with an overall record of 12-3, as WPIAL Runner-Ups, and as PIAA Quarterfinalists. Congratulations to all on a great season!

USC Track and Field Competes in WPIAL Track and Field Championships
CoEd Varsity Track And FieldThe Upper St. Clair Track and Field team traveled to Slippery Rock University on Thursday for the WPIAL Track and Field Championships. The Panthers had a strong day as five individuals took home gold medals. Sadie Tomczyk claimed gold in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.02 seconds, the girls 4x100 meter relay team of Sydney Tomczyk Melice Rubino, Jameson Tisdale, and Sadie Tomczyk won gold with a time of 48.76 seconds and Holden Schwamberger won golds in the 100 meter wheelchair (17.75 seconds), 200 meter wheelchair (33.85 seconds), and 800 meter wheelchair (2:26.85). USC Baseball Lands Four on All-Section Teams
Boys Varsity BaseballCongratulations to Upper St. Clair Baseball players Nico D'Orazio, Nolan Wilson, Cooper Stutzman, and Evan Smirniw for making the BIG 56 All-Section teams. D'Orazio, Wilson, and Stutzman earned First Team honors, while Smirniw earned Second Team honors. D'Orazio, a senior shortstop, totaled a .389 average this season and led the Panthers with 9 doubles and 15 stolen bases. Wilson, a junior Designated Hitter, hit .359 with a home run and 19 RBI's. Stutzman, a senior outfielder, hit .346 and led the team with 4 triples. Smirniw, a sophomore infielder, led the Panthers with a .415 average and had his biggest game of the year in the Panthers 16-5 win over Plum in the First Round of the WPIAL Playoffs, going 4-4 with a home run, triple, and 6 RBI's. The Panthers will look to keep their playoff run going on Tuesday when they take on Moon in the WPIAL Quarterfinals. The game will take place at Ross Memorial Park in Washington and first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 pm.

USC Boys Lacrosse Falls in Overtime in WPIAL Playoffs
Boys Varsity LacrosseThe Upper St. Clair Boys Lacrosse team traveled to Shady Side Academy on Wednesday for a matchup with the Bulldogs in the First Round of the WPIAL Playoffs. The two teams met earlier in the season with Shady Side winning by six goals, but Wednesday night proved to be a different type of game. A low scoring game ensued and 48 minutes was not enough to determine a winner, but the Bulldogs were able to rally and score the game winner in overtime to defeat the Panthers, 6-5. Beckett Mayfield and Max Lane each scored two goals to lead the team and Charlie Leimkuehler added one goal in the defeat. The loss ends the Panthers season with a final record of 8-9.

Carter Lichtman (6-3, 5-7, 6-2), Sidney Weissert (3-6, 6-4, 6-3), Ethan Yealy (6-3, 7-5) and the doubles team of Daniel Smith and Rex Wanjte (6-1, 4-6, 6-2) all won their matches to give the Panthers the 4-1 win over the Dragons. The team now moves to 12-2 on the season and will be back in action on Friday when they take on Abington Heights High School in the PIAA Quarterfinals. Boys Varsity BaseballEvan Smirniw went 4-4 with a home-run, triple, and six RBI's to lead the Upper St. Clair Baseball team to a 16-5 win over Plum on Tuesday in the First Round of the WPIAL Playoffs. Smirniw contributed to the 16 total hits by the Panthers as Nolan Wilson, Brooks York, Tanner Schroeck, and Luke Marchinsky also had multi-hit games. Wilson homered and drove in four, York drove in two runs, Schroeck doubled and drove in a run, and Marchinsky had three hits and two RBI's. Max Dietrick got the start on the mound and threw five solid innings, allowing six hits in his outing. The win moves the Panthers into the WPIAL Quarterfinals where they will take on the winner of Moon and Baldwin. The game will take place on Tuesday, May 19th with the time and venue to be determined.

Upper St. Clair High School - Boys’ Golf Team Tryouts – 2026Registration: All participants must register through Healthy Roster and complete their physical form online before August 1, 2026. This information can be found on the Upper St. Clair Athletic Website: uscsdathletics.com under the “Healthy Roster” tab. All athletes must pay the $75 athletic fee prior to tryouts. USC Athletic Registration Fee Information
The Athletic Registration Fee Portal for 2025-26 is now open. Please go to the Registration tab on uscsdathletics.com to enter information. Any student at USC High School who is participating in athletics will need to submit the 2025-26 Athletic Registration Fee using the form on the Registration tab. The athletic fee is $75 per athlete, per sport, per season. For example, if an athlete plays a sport in the fall and/or winter, they still owe $75 for playing a spring sport. The fee must be paid prior to the first contest.
