USC Boys Basketball’s Comeback Falls Short at Central Catholic
Boys Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team traveled to Pittsburgh Central Catholic Friday night for the team’s first road game of the season. The first half did not bode well for the team as they trailed by 20 points after 16 minutes, but a furious comeback in the second half ensued and after four quarters the Panthers and Vikings were tied at 40. In Overtime the teams traded baskets for the 4 minute period, but ultimately Central Catholic made a put-back with 0.3 seconds remaining to defeat the Panthers 48-46. Ryan Robbins and Jake Foster led the way for Upper St. Clair, scoring 16 and 15 points, respectively. With the loss the Panthers record drops to 4-1 (1-1) on the season and will look to rebound on Tuesday when they host Canon-McMillan.

USC Rifle Drops Match Against Bethel Park
CoEd Varsity RifleThe Upper St. Clair Rifle Team hosted Bethel Park on Thursday for a non-conference matchup with the Blackhawks. The Panthers improved from their first match, but fell to Bethel Park 797-56x - 781-45x. Senior Captain Hayate Svitek led the way with 100-9x. Four Freshman contributed to scoring in their first year of competitive shooting - Lyman Thomson 98-8x, Jackson Levine 97-7x, Mason Reik 97-4x, and Brandon Donnelly 96-4x. Juniors Christian Levkulich 98-5x and Colin Donnelly 98-2x, along with Harrison Barker 97-4x rounded out the top 8. The Panthers will return to action on Tuesday to take on Mount Lebanon.

Boys Varsity WrestlingThe Upper St. Clair Boys Wrestling team hosted Baldwin on Wednesday night at Upper St. Clair High School. Mateo Amorosa (152), Derek Worstell (160), Bryce Catanzaro (172), Luca Coury (189), and Alex Zevallos (285) each picked up pins in the match, but the Panthers ultimately fell 41-36. The team will be back in action this Saturday when they host the annual Mack McGuire Duals at Upper St. Clair High School.

CoEd Varsity RifleThe Upper St. Clair Rifle team traveled to West Greene Tuesday for a non-conference matchup. The Panthers, who graduated 7 starters in 2025, fell to the Pioneers 883-35x - 773-34x. Scoring was lead by Senior Harrison Barker, along with Team Captains Hayate Svitek (Senior) and Christian Levkulich (Junior). Upper St. Clair will look to rebound on Thursday when they host Bethel Park.

Boys Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team hosted Norwin on Tuesday night for the teams opening section game of the 2025-2026 season. Four Panthers hit the double figure scoring mark as the team took home a 66-51 win. Jake Foster led the way with 19 points, including five 3-pointers, Ryan Robbins followed with 16, Luke Marchinsky added 15, and Jude Ausi chipped in 10. The Panthers now move to 4-0 (1-0) and will face their first road test on Friday when they travel to take on Pittsburgh Central Catholic.

USC Swimming and Diving Opens Season
CoEd Varsity Swimming & DivingThe Upper St. Clair Swimming and Diving team opened up their 2025-2026 season Monday night as they hosted Quaker Valley and Cornell in a Tri-Meet. Carter Wells set a new pool and school record with a total diving score of 307.50, while Delaney Burnette and Livia Tranquilli also met the WPIAL Standard for diving. On the swimming side, Seth Pedretti (200 IM and 100 Breast), Tom Howard (50 and 100 Free), Danis Vakufac (100 Free and 100 Fly), Jack Whiteford (100 Back), Catherine Miller (200 IM and 500 Free), as well as the Boys 200 Medley, 200 Free, and 400 Free and the Girls 200 Free and 200 Medley met WPIAL time cuts. The Boys 200 Free relay team of Howard, Nazar Zoukozski, Vakufac, and Ben Whiteford also set a pool record of 1:24:59. The team will be back in the pool next Wednesday when they will travel to take on North Allegheny.

Girls Varsity BasketballCaroline Barnard nailed six 3-pointers, totaling a game high 18 points, as the Upper St. Clair Girls Basketball team defeated North Hills Monday night, 40-37. The win snaps a two-game skid for Upper St. Clair and brings their overall record to 2-2 on the season. The Panthers will have some time off before returning to action on December 16th when they will host Chartiers Valley.

Boys Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team hosted Kiski Area High School Saturday afternoon in the finals of their annual Tip-Off Tournament. The Panthers and Cavaliers played a tough, low-scoring affair, but Upper St. Clair was able to come out on top, 48-37, thanks to 20 points from Ryan Robbins. Jake Foster added 17 points, with 7 coming in the fourth quarter, to help the Panthers in the win. The team now moves to 3-0 on the year and will be back in action Tuesday when they host Norwin in their section opener.

Girls Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Girls Basketball team traveled to Baldwin Saturday afternoon for the second day of the Peters Township/Baldwin Tip-Off Tournament. Following a 59-51 loss to Peters Township last night, the Panthers played another close game but fell 51-45 to the Highlanders in overtime. The loss drops Upper St. Clair's record to 1-2 and they will return to the court on Monday when they travel to North Hills.

Kat Polstyanko netted a game high 25 points, but the Panthers fell by a score of 59-51 to drop their record to 1-1. The team will return to the court tomorrow as they travel to Baldwin to take on the Highlanders. Tip off is scheduled for 1:30 pm.

Boys Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team hosted Belle Vernon Friday night in the opening game of their annual Tip-Off Tournament. The game was a back and forth battle throughout, but the Panthers were able to pull away in the fourth quarter to take home a 59-47 victory. A balanced scoring attack helped the team grab the win as Luke Marchinsky led the way with 12 points. Jake Foster, Jude Ausi, and Andrew Gaither each netted 10 points, Finn Beggy added 9 of his own, and Ryan Robbins chipped in 8 in the win. The Panthers will return to action tomorrow when they will take on Kiski Area High School and the game is scheduled for a 2:30 pm start.

Boys Varsity WrestlingThe Upper St. Clair Boys Wrestling team traveled to Hampton on Wednesday night for the team's opening dual match of the 2025 season. The Panthers received pins from Austin Sullivan, Derek Worstell, Spencer Hills, and Kurt Baran, but dropped a narrow 35-34 loss to the Talbots. Upper St. Clair will return to the mat this Friday and Saturday as they will travel to the Chartiers-Houston Tournament.

Boys Varsity BasketballThe Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team hosted Bishop Canevin Wednesday night in the teams opening game of the 2025 season. The Panthers cruised to a 75-41 win as Ryan Robbins led the way with 18 points. Jude Ausi added 12 points in the victory and Jake Foster and Finn Beggy each chipped in 10. The Panthers will return to the court on Friday as they hold their annual tip off tournament. The team will open up with Belle Vernon and the start time is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

The Panthers came home with a 50-35 victory in Head Coach Suzie McConnell-Serio's debut. Ryan Prunzik led the way with 21 points and Kat Polstyanko and Kenzie Pope followed her with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Upper St. Clair will be back in action this Friday when they will travel to Peters Township. Tip off is scheduled for 6:00 pm.

USC Football Falls in WPIAL Semifinals
Boys Varsity FootballThe Upper St. Clair Football team took on familiar foe Peters Township Friday night in the WPIAL Semifinals. The Panthers took an early 3-0 lead thanks to a 26 yard field goal by Jacobo Echeverria, but the Indians answered with two touchdowns to take a 14-3 lead at halftime. Echeverria nailed another 26 yard field goal to cut the lead to 8 points in the third quarter, however, Peters Township then scored on their next drive and extended their lead further in the fourth quarter as the ultimately defeated the Panthers 31-6. Congratulations to the Panthers on a great season that saw them finish with a 10-3 (3-2) record and as WPIAL Semifinalists.

USC Football Defeats Woodland Hills; Returns to WPIAL Semifinals
Boys Varsity FootballThe Upper St. Clair Football team traveled to the Wolvarena Friday night to take on Woodland Hills in the WPIAL Quarterfinals. The Panthers fell behind by two touchdowns early on but rallied to take control of the game and came home with a 36-26 victory. Upper St. Clair used a strong ground game led by John Banbury and Dante Coury to wear out the Wolverine defense as the game went on. Banbury scored three rushing touchdowns and Coury added one to account for the four Panther touchdowns on the night. Jacobo Echeverria added two field goals, and the Panther defense came up with a safety to round out the scoring. The win returns the Panthers to the WPIAL Semifinals where they will face a familiar foe in Peters Township. The game will be played at a site to be determined on Friday, November 14th at 7:00 pm.

USC Athletic Registration Fee Information
The Athletic Registration Fee Portal for 2025-26 is now open. Please go to the Registration tab on uscsdathletics.com to enter information. Any student at USC High School who is participating in athletics will need to submit the 2025-26 Athletic Registration Fee using the form on the Registration tab. The athletic fee is $75 per athlete, per sport, per season. For example, if an athlete plays a sport in the fall and/or winter, they still owe $75 for playing a spring sport. The fee must be paid prior to the first contest.
