The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team hosted Hempfield tonight as they opened up section play for the 2022-23 season. The Panthers were firing on all cylinders as they routed the Spartans, 87-32. 14 total Panthers made their mark in the scoring column with three reaching double figures. Nick Sukernek led all scorers with 15 points, Christian Ito followed with 12, and Matt Gaither chipped in 10. The Panthers now move to 6-5 (1-0) on the season and will be back in action on Friday when they will travel to Norwin for another section contest. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
