USC Boys Basketball Repeats as WPIAL Champions

NEW CASTLE JUNIOR/SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 43
The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team became the first team in WPIAL history to repeat as Class 6A Champions tonight as they defeated New Castle 65-43. The Panthers used a complete team effort to take down the Hurricanes with Tyler Robbins leading the way, filling up the stat sheet with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Niko Gidas and Jake Foster also hit the double-figure scoring mark as Gidas scored 11 points and Foster scored 10. Julian Dahlem controlled the floor, finishing with a game high 8 assists, while also adding 8 points. Ryan Robbins and Gianni Disora provided sparks off the bench finishing with 9 and 4 points, respectively, and Kaamil Jackson chipped in 7 points in the win. The win marks Upper St. Clair's 5th WPIAL Championship under coach Danny Holzer and the Panthers will be back in action Saturday when they will host William Penn High School in the Opening Round of the PIAA Tournament.
