USC Girls Lacrosse Comeback Falls Short in WPIAL Semifinals

The Upper St. Clair Girls Lacrosse team took on Mount Lebanon last night at Peters Township High School with a berth in the WPIAL Championship game at stake. The Blue Devils clicked early, building a big lead on the Panthers in the first half. Upper St. Clair continued to battle throughout the second half as Anna Capobres and Riley Powell led the way, but ultimately their comeback attempt fell short and Mount Lebanon came away with a 12-9 win. Capobres notched 5 goals and Powell added 2 in the defeat for the Panthers. Upper St. Clair will now take on Moon in the WPIAL Consolation game with the winner earning a bid into the PIAA Playoffs. The site, date, and time of the game is still to be determined.
