The Upper St. Clair Girls Track and Field team competed in the WPIAL Class 3A Team Semifinals yesterday at Norwin High School. The Panthers took on Norwin, Laurel Highlands, and Kiski Area for a spot in the WPIAL Championships next week. The girls defeated Laurel Highlands and Kiski Area, but fell to Norwin as the Knights will advance to next week's finals. Top Panther finishers from yesterday's event were:

Sadie Tomczyk - 1st in the 100 meter dash

Evie Ellenberger - 1st in the long jump, tied 2nd in the pole vault

Anna Engleman - 1st in the triple jump, tied 2nd in the pole vault

Ashley Sanderson - 2nd in the 200 meter dash

Lydia Rhodes - 2nd in the 3200 meter run

Emily Powell - 2nd in the javelin

4x100 meter relay team (Noor El Nokali, Sadie Tomczyk, Avery Bayer, Ashley Sanderson) - 1st place

4x400 meter relay team (Hannah Bemm, Catalina Ramirez, Stella Birmingham, McKenzey Mack) - 1st place

The Panthers will be back in action on Friday when they will travel to the Baldwin Invite.
