USC Track and Field Claims Three Individual WPIAL Titles

The Upper St. Clair Track and Field team competed in the Individual WPIAL Championships yesterday and claimed three titles. Sadie Tomczyk grabbed two of her own, winning gold in the 100 and 200 meter dashes and Anna Engelman won gold in the triple jump, setting a USC School Record, as they both punched their ticket to the State Championships. The girls 4x100 meter relay team of Jameson Tisdale, Noor El Nokali, Sadie Tomczyk, and Avery Bayer took home a third place finish and so did Tayla Kurzawa in the high jump as they all qualified for the State Championships, Kurzawa competed in the triple jump as well, finishing with a medal in 6th place. Meredith Rhodes and Carter Kashak also medaled, both taking home 8th place finishes with Rhodes medaling in the 3200 meter run and Kashak medaling in the 800 meter run.
