USC Rifle Drops Opener to 2-time Defending WPIAL Champion Hempfield

Upper St. Clair Rifle Team had a good showing to start off the 2022-23 season but it wasn't enough to beat a very strong Hempfield team in non-section action Thursday night. The Panthers were led by senior captain John Walsh and sophomore (and sister) Molly Walsh; both with identical 100-8x's. Sophomore Ari Madaras recorded the 3rd highest score on the team with a personal best of 99-7x. The Panthers are back in action Tuesday when they take on rivals Mt. Lebanon in a non-section match.
