USC Rifle Competes at Team and Individual Championships

The Upper St. Clair Rifle Team had a busy week with team and individual championships. Individual championships on Thursday fielded 82 competitors with the top 16 advancing to states. Senior Erin Shehab placed 5th in individuals (200 - 18x / 4c) and senior Ben Waldron placed 10th (200 - 16x / 4c) advancing them to the state round. Hayates Svitek, Logan Wells and Molly Walsh performed well but do not advance. The state competition is next week, being held over several days. The Team Championships Tuesday saw the Panthers place 8th overall in WPIAL teams scoring 793 - 50x. Junior Hayate Svitek was selected to the All-Tournament Team with a score of 100 - 9x. Unfortunately, the team did not advance to the state championships. Congratulations to the team for a great season!
