USC Boys Basketball Falls in PIAA Quarterfinals

Panthers Lose: 60 - 71

The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team took on Central York High School yesterday in the PIAA Quarterfinals at Altoona High School. The Panthers fell behind early, trailing by 16 points at halftime, but stormed back eventually cutting the Central York lead to five with two minutes to go in the game. Ultimately, Central York was able to fend off the Panthers and took home a 71-60 win. Four Panthers hit the double figure scoring mark as Tyler Robbins led the bunch with 16. Peja Strobl provided a spark coming off the bench as he followed Robbins with 14 points and Brett Meinert and Christian Ito chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively. The Panthers finish their season with a 22-6 record, WPIAL Class 6A Champions, and PIAA Quarterfinalists.

Panthers Win: 63 - 43
The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team took on State College High School today in the Second Round of the PIAA Tournament. The Panthers continued their hot streak as they took home a 63-43 victory and have now advanced to the PIAA Quarterfinals. The Panthers used a balanced scoring attack to defeat the Little Lions as Tyler Robbins scored 15 points, Brett Meinert followed him with 11, and Christian Ito and Peja Strobl chipped in 10 each. Upper St. Clair will be back in action on Saturday where they will take on the winner of Red Lion High School and Central York High School. The venue and time of the game is still to be determined.
USC Boys Basketball Rallies for Win in PIAA First Round

Panthers Win: 57 - 53
The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team hosted Central Dauphin today in the First Round of the PIAA Tournament. The Panthers, who claimed the WPIAL Class 6A Championship last Saturday, had a bit of a slow start as they fell behind 16-3 after the first quarter. After that it was all Panthers as they rallied for a thrilling 57-53 victory. Christian Ito led the Panthers with 17 points and Brett Meinert followed him with 15 of his own. Tyler Robbins also chipped in 13 points, all coming in the second half, in the win. The Panthers now move on to the Second Round of the PIAA Tournament where they will take on State College. The game will be played Wednesday, March 13th and the time and venue of the game is still to be determined.

Panthers Win: 64 - 41
The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team took on Baldwin tonight for the third time this season as the two teams met in the WPIAL Class 6A Championship. Both matchups in the regular season were decided by five points or less, but tonight the Panthers dominated, taking home a 64-41 win, and their first WPIAL Championship since 2021. Tyler Robbins led the Panthers with 22 points and 12 rebounds and Brett Meinert followed him with 19 points of his own. The Panthers have also advanced to the PIAA Tournament and will have their opening round game on March 9th. Details of the game are still to be determined.
USC Boys Basketball Advances to WPIAL Championship with Convincing Win over Pittsburgh Central Catholic

Panthers Win: 61 - 46
The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team took on Pittsburgh Central Catholic last night in the WPIAL Class 6A Semifinals at Gateway High School. In a repeat matchup of last year's Semifinals, one that saw the Vikings down the Panthers, last night was a different story as the Panthers led wire-to-wire and defeated the Vikings 61-46. Upper St. Clair was led by Christian Ito as he poured in a game high 17 points, while Brett Meinert followed him with 14 of his own. The Panthers now advance to their first WPIAL Championship Game since 2021 and will take on a familiar foe in Baldwin. The two teams met twice already this year as they split the season series 1-1. The WPIAL Championship will take place on Saturday, March 2 at the Petersen Events Center. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

Panthers Win: 78 - 71
The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team hosted Butler tonight in a WPIAL Class 6A Quarterfinal matchup. The Panthers and Golden Tornadoes traded blows all throughout the game, but in the end the Panthers pulled away in the fourth quarter and came away with a 78-71 victory. Tyler Robbins led Upper St. Clair with 20 points and Christian Ito took over the game late as he scored 15 of his 19 total points in the fourth quarter. Julian Dahlem and Kaamil Jackson also chipped in 12 points each in the victory. The Panthers now advance to the WPIAL Class 6A Semifinals where they will take on Pittsburgh Central Catholic on Tuesday. The time and place of the game are still to be determined.
USC Boys Basketball Finishes Regular Season with Win over Northgate

Panthers Win: 65 - 55
Tyler Robbins, Peja Strobl, and Christian Ito combined for 53 points tonight as the Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team defeated Northgate 65-55. Robbins led all scorers with 21 points, Strobl followed him with 20, and Ito chipped in 12. The win brings the Panthers regular season record to 17-5 (8-2) and now they will turn their focus to the WPIAL Playoffs. Upper St. Clair has been awarded the #3 seed in Class 6A and will take on #6 seed Butler in the Quarterfinal round. The game will be played at Upper St. Clair High School on Friday, February 23rd with the time to be determined.

Panthers Win: 50 - 45
The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team squared off with Aliquippa yesterday at the Bash with the Bronx showcase held at North Allgheny High School. The Panthers got off to a quick start, leading by 14 at halftime, to propel them to a 50-45 victory. Two Panthers hit the double figure scoring mark as Tyler Robbins led all scorers with 20 points and Christian Ito followed him with 14 of his own. Upper St. Clair now moves to 16-5 (8-2) on the year and will wrap up their regular season on Monday when they will welcome Northgate to town for a non-section contest. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

Panthers Win: 57 - 52
The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team traveled to Baldwin tonight as they looked to lock up a second place finish in the section. The Panthers fell behind early as Baldwin scored the first 10 points of the game, but they continued to chip away and went into halftime only trailing by 1 point. Baldwin extended their lead to 6 points after three quarters, but then the Panthers outscored the Highlanders 26-15 in the final eight minutes as they secured a 57-52 victory. Brett Meinert led Upper St. Clair in the scoring department with 19 points and Christian Ito followed him with 18, including 10 in the fourth quarter. The Panthers will return to action tomorrow when they will take on Aliquippa at North Allegheny High School. Tip off is scheduled for 3:00 pm.

The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team hosted Canon-McMillan tonight as they looked to rebound from Friday's loss at Mount Lebanon. The Panthers' two seniors, Christian Ito and Brett Meinert, were honored before the game as the team held senior recognition and were also key contributors in the 67-44 Panther win. Meinert contributed 15 points and Ito followed him with 14 of his own. Tyler Robbins was also a force inside as he led all scorers with 19 points. The Panthers now move to 14-5 (7-2) on the season and will travel to Baldwin on Friday to round out their section schedule. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.

Panthers Win: 68 - 30
The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team traveled to Norwin tonight looking for their third straight victory. The Panthers did just that they dominated Norwin from start to finish for a 68-30 win. Christian Ito led the team in the scoring department with 15 points and Tyler Robbins and Peja Strobl each chipped in 11. The win brings Upper St. Clair's record to 13-4 (6-1) on the season and sets up a first place matchup with Mount Lebanon. The Panthers will travel to take on the Blue Devils, who also hold a 6-1 section record, on Friday. The game is set for a 7:30 tip off and will also be featured on 22 the Point! as their game of the week.
Robbins Leads USC Boys Basketball Past Hempfield

Tyler Robbins led all scorers with 21 points as the Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team defeated Hempfield 48-39 last night. Brett Meinert chipped in 12 points in the Panther win as well. With the win the Panthers move to 12-4 (5-1) on the year and will be back in action on Tuesday when they will travel to Norwin. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.

The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team got back on the winning track last night as they took down Fox Chapel, 50-40, in a non-section contest. The Panthers were led by Tyler Robbins and Brett Meinert as Robbins scored a game high 14 points and Meinert followed him with 13. The Panthers now move to 11-4 on the season and will resume section play on Friday when they will host Hempfield. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team hosted Baldwin tonight in a section matchup. The Panthers, who came into the game on a seven game winning steak, suffered their first defeat in nearly a month 55-54 to the Highlanders. Tyler Robbins and Kaamil Jackson led the way in the scoring department as they each registered 15 points. The loss brings the Panthers record to 10-4 (4-1) and creates a three-way tie atop the section along with Mount Lebanon and Baldwin. Upper St. Clair will be back in action on Tuesday when they will travel to Fox Chapel for a non-section contest. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team hosted rival Mount Lebanon tonight in a highly-anticipated section matchup. The Blue Devils came into tonight's contest ranked #1 in the WPIAL in Class 6A, while the Panthers came in ranked #3, and both teams were tied for first place in Section 2. Upper St. Clair jumped out to a hot start, leading Mount Lebanon by six points after the first quarter. The Blue Devils would chip away at the Panther lead and eventually tied the game towards the end of the fourth quarter, but the Panthers held on for a 44-39 victory. Brett Meinert led the way in the scoring department for Upper St. Clair as he netted 14 points. The Panthers now move to 9-3 (3-0) on the year and are in sole possession of first place in the section. They will look to follow up tonight's win on Friday when they will travel to Canon-McMillan for a matchup with the Big Macs. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.

In a back and forth game the Panthers pulled out a 63-52 victory as four players scored in double figures. Christian Ito continued his strong play as he led the team with 17 points, Tyler Robbins followed him with 13, Brett Meinert chipped in 12, and Jake Foster netted 11. The Panthers will return to action on Tuesday when they will travel to Hempfield. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.

Christian Ito scored a game high 29 points today as the Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team defeated Beaver 70-45. Ito got off to a hot start as he netted 12 first quarter points and continued his stellar play throughout the game. Tyler Robbins and Kaamil Jackson also reached double figures as Robbins scored 11 points and Jackson scored 10. The Panthers will return to the court on Friday when they will host Peters Township. Tip off is scheduled for 3:00 pm.

Panthers Win: 47 - 32
The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team traveled to Charleston, South Carolina this week and squared off with some unfamiliar opponents. The Panthers would go 1-1 on the trip as they lost to Goose Creek 47-45 on Thursday and defeated Ashley Ridge 47-32 today. Tyler Robbins led the Panthers in their win with 14 points and Christian Ito followed him with 11. Kaamil Jackson and Brett Meinert each chipped in 10 points in the victory as well. The Panthers will return home for their next contest as they will take on Beaver on December 27th at 3:00 pm.

The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team traveled to Laroche College on Saturday afternoon to take on Woodland Hills. After suffering a 64-58 defeat to Bethel Park on Friday, the Panthers bounced back with a 56-36 win. Three Panthers hit the double-figure scoring mark as Tyler Robbins led the bunch with 15 points. Christian Ito followed him with 13 points and Kaamil Jackson rounded out the group with 10.

Panthers Lose: 54 - 55
The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team hosted Montour tonight in a non-section match up. In a back-and-forth affair the Panthers suffered a 55-54 defeat. Brett Meinert would hit a layup with 17 seconds remaining to put the score at 54-53 Upper St. Clair. On Montour's ensuing possession, the Spartans were able to score a tip in with less than one second remaining to give them the win. Christian Ito led the Panthers in the scoring department as he netted 17 points. Tyler Robbins would follow him with 12 and Kaamil Jackson scored 10 to round out the double-figure scorers. The Panthers will look to rebound next Friday when they will travel to Bethel Park. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.

The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team squared off with Gateway today in the final game of their Tip-Off Tournament. Brett Meinert scored 17 points to lead the Panthers to a 58-49 victory over the Gators. Julian Dahlem and Christian Ito chipped in 14 and 13 points, respectively, in the win. The Panthers now move to 2-0 to start the season and will be back in action on Friday, December 8th as they will play host to Montour. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

The Upper St. Clair Boys Basketball team opened up their 2023-2024 season tonight as they hosted Ambridge. A dominant second half propelled the Panthers to a 85-53 win as Tyler Robbins led the way with 18 points. Christian Ito followed Robbins with 12 points of his own and Peja Strobl and Julian Dahlem each chipped in 10 for the Panthers. Upper St. Clair will return to action tomorrow at home when they will play Gateway. Tip off is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
