USC Football Falls to Pine Richland in WPIAL Championship

Panthers Lose: -
The Upper St. Clair Football team traveled to Norwin High School yesterday to square off with Pine Richland with the WPIAL Class 5A Championship on the line. The Panthers battled the Rams throughout but were unable to get rolling and suffered a 34-3 defeat. Bennett Henderson converted a 33 yard field goal in the second quarter to account for the Panthers only points on the afternoon. Although the end result was not what Upper St. Clair had hoped for, the Panthers put together a spectacular season and finish with a record of 10-3 and as WPIAL Class 5A runner-ups.

Panthers Win: 17 - 7
The Upper St. Clair Football team squared off with Bethel Park tonight in the WPIAL Class 5A Semifinals as they looked to avenge their regular season loss to the Blackhawks. A steady downpour of rain played a factor throughout the night, but the Panthers set the tone early as they took a 7-0 lead thanks to a 27 yard rushing touchdown by Aidan Besselman. Bethel Park would respond with a first half touchdown of their own as the teams entered the locker rooms tied at seven. Cody Marn gave the Panthers a lead in the third quarter as he broke a 64 yard receiving touchdown and Bennett Henderson would convert a field goal in the fourth as Upper St. Clair took home the 17-7 victory. Jamaal Brown paced the Panther offense with 135 rushing yards. Upper St. Clair will now face Pine Richland for the WPIAL Class 5A title on Saturday at Norwin High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 PM.

Panthers Win: 24 - 21
The Upper St. Clair Football team traveled to Gateway last night for a WPIAL Quarterfinal Playoff matchup with the Gators. A back-and-forth game saw the Panthers take home a thrilling 24-21 victory. Julian Dahlem found Aidan Besselman for a touchdown on 4th and 11 with 2:22 left in the 4th Quarter to give the Panthers a 22-21 lead and after a successful two point conversion the Panthers led 24-21. Jamal Brown, who scored the other Panther touchdown, totaled 160 rushing yards on the night. Panther kicker Bennett Henderson nailed field goals of 25, 34, and 47 yards as he played a key role in the victory. Upper St. Clair will now take on Conference rival Bethel Park in the WPIAL Semifinals next Friday. The time and place of the game are still to be determined.

Panthers Win: 35 - 0
The Upper St. Clair Football team hosted South Fayette last night as they looked to solidify a playoff berth with a win over the Lions. A dominant performance by the Panthers had them come away with a 35-0 victory. Jamaal Brown rushed for 176 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Panthers. The Panthers will now await their postseason fate as the WPIAL Brackets are set to be released today.

Panthers Lose: 24 - 28
The Upper St. Clair Football team hosted Canon-McMillan Friday in a non-conference matchup. A back-and-forth first half saw the Panthers and Big Macs trade scores, with the Big Macs taking a 14-10 lead into halftime. The second half was more of the same, with the two Panther touchdowns coming in big play form. Jamaal Brown had a 99 yard touchdown run and Aidan Besselman caught a 54 yard touchdown pass from Quarterback Ethan Hellman. The Panthers had a 24-21 lead late in the game, but the Big Macs cashed in a touchdown with 48 seconds left to give them the 28-24 win over the Panthers. Upper St. Clair will look to snap their two game skid when they travel to Moon on Friday. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

Panthers Lose: 14 - 27
The Upper St. Clair Football team hosted Bethel Park on Friday as they looked to continue their unbeaten start to the 2022 season. The Panthers struggled to stop the Blackhawk running game throughout the evening and eventually fell 27-13, as they suffered their first defeat of the year. Julian Dahlem connected with Aidan Besselman and Cody Marn on the two Panther scores. Upper St. Clair will be back in action on Friday as they will play a non-conference game against 6A Canon-McMillan. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

Panthers Win: 53 - 14
The Upper St. Clair Football team hosted Baldwin last night in the team's 2022 home opener. It was also the first conference contest of the season for the Panthers after scoring two blowout non-conference victories in the first two weeks of the season. Last night was no different as the Panthers cruised to a 53-14 victory over Baldwin. Julian Dahlem completed 16 of his 18 pass attempts totaling 239 yards and four touchdowns while Aidan Besselman reeled in seven catches for 113 yards and two scores. The win moves Upper St. Clair to 3-0 (1-0) on the year and the team will be back to non-conference play when they travel to Fox Chapel this Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
Strong Rushing Attack Leads USC Football to Victory Over North Hills

Panthers Win: 37 - 7
Jamaal Brown eclipsed the 100 yard rushing mark for the second straight game to start the 2022 season as he ran for 132 yards and a touchdown to help lead the Upper St. Clair Football team to a 37-7 victory over North Hills. The Panthers took a 17-0 lead into the locker room and continued their dominance in the second half to push their 2022 record to 2-0. Quarterback Julian Dahlem threw for two touchdowns on the night, one to Aidan Besselman and the other to Van Hellman. Dahlem also ran for 84 yards and a touchdown. The Panthers will open Allegheny Six Conference play next Friday when they will welcome Baldwin to Upper St. Clair Stadium for the 2022 home opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
