The Upper St. Clair Girls Soccer team hosted Butler tonight in the first round of the WPIAL Playoffs. Chloe Bird opened the scoring with a penalty kick goal midway through the first half. Butler would score their own penalty kick goal to tie the game at one before Anelise Castrodale put the Panthers ahead 2-1 with seven minutes left in the first half. Meredith Huzjak gave the Panthers some insurance, scoring early in the second and the Panthers held on for the 3-1 win. Upper St. Clair now advances to the Quarterfinal round where they will travel to Seneca Valley to take on the #2 seeded Raiders. The game will be at Seneca Valley High School on Thursday with the time still to be determined.

After a scoreless first half, Abby Mascaro put the Panthers ahead in the second as she found the back of the net to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. The Panthers defense kept the Blue Devils off the scoreboard for the rest of the game and came home with a 1-0 win. Upper St. Clair finishes their regular season with a 9-5-2 (6-2-2) record and the team will now turn their attention to the WPIAL Playoffs as the brackets will be released next week.
