USC Rifle Competes at WPIAL Individual Championships

USC Rifle wrapped up WPIAL competition Thursday at the Individual Championships held at Dormont-Mt Lebanon Sportsmen Club. The Panthers were represented by Seniors Wolfram Schmidt, Caleb States, John Walsh and Sophomores Erin Shehab and Logan Wells. Schmidt (200-11x, 21st) and Wells (200-10x, 24th) just missed making the top 16 and qualifying for states by virtue of x-count tiebreaker. This was Wells’ 2nd trip to WPIAL Individual Championships and also has a showing in Team Championships last year and is yet to miss a shot going 50 for 50 in the post season in his career so far. The Panthers close out the season next week with 6 seniors scheduled to participate in the Senior Shoot event Friday and then a team of 4 will compete in the PA State 3 Position Championship on Sunday.
